I feel that the most successful planet is the ocean one as it looks like you could actually walk around it, compared to the sunset that just looks like a tiny floating rock in the sky. The stretch affect on the sunset also warped the moon which makes it look less successful that the ocean. In the future I would always do a panorama before doing the small planet because thats what seemed to make the difference and cause less of a stretch effect. If I had included more land in the sunset image the planet would have also been larger, making a more successful image.
Balance- to have a photo that doesn't pull your eye directly to one area but allows the entire image to work cohesively.
I feel like this image displays balance by having everything distributed without the shelves, none are empty.
I feel like this image isn't very interesting to look at but fits the term balanced. I wish I would have picked a more interesting picture to use for balance.
Framing- using things to create a focus around the main subject.
I feel like this picture fits the idea of framing because the main subject is framed by the fence.
I like this picture because the subject is looking towards the light which puts a highlight on her face.
The Golden Spiral- An image that leads your eye in to a centre point by taking it in a spiral.
I think this image displays the golden spiral because the petals of the rose lead to the centre of the flower.
I like this picture but I think it would have been more interesting with an alive flower with more of a pop of colour.
The Golden Triangle- Where the subject or object is placed above the diagonal line connecting the corners and then the 90 degree angle formed off of the centre line.
I think this image shows this because it is placed perfectly on that "golden triangle."
I think a more interesting object could have allowed for a more aesthetically pleasing photo.
Lines- Lines are used to show direction or add detail to a picture
I feel like this image represents the use of lines perfectly as it is made up entirely of the wire lining on a fan.
I think this picture is great an interesting to the human line. The harsh line that crosses through the rest really leads you around the image.
Pattern- A repeated shaped or texture.
I think this image shows pattern well by making each section look similar to other parts of the image.
I like this picture because there are different patterns within the pattern, and it also takes up the entire image rather than just having pattern in part of the image.
The Rule of Odds- having objects or people presented in odds, ex. one three five seven.
I think this image shows the rule of odds by having three objects displayed as the main focus.
I like this picture, showing the objects offset and not in one straight perfect book pile adds to the idea of a pile of journals.
Rule Of Thirds- Where the objects sit on each third of the picture rather than dead centre.
I feel like this one does display the rule by sitting on the first third on the left of the image.
I like this picture because it shows hope and excitement for the future, while leaving the idea of where your adventure will actually be. Personally this adventure will be in New York for me!
Shape- The use of different shapes and forms to make the image more interesting.
I think this image displays shape by having pentagons and circles and triangles all in one object.
I personally don't find this image interesting to look at but it does correctly show different shapes within an object.
Space-Having one object in the focus with a wide open space around to lead more attention to the particular object.
I think this image shows this concept by having the toy van in focus with the background all the same colour and blurred. It doesn't leave anything else to look at but still gives the picture an open feeling.
I like this picture a lot because it is interesting to look at and the carpet almost looks like perfectly racked sand. The colours work together nicely.
a) Camera obscura was first used in the 9th century. b) Camera obscura uses a dark room/box with a single small hole in one side that let light through. it would project the image outside onto the wall inside. c) In 1839 photography as we know it was born. d) The daguerreotype produced a sharper image. e) It was a wire frame that would hide behind you while supporting your head so that you would be able to stay still for two minutes during the picture. f) George Eastman was mostly responsible for making photography a universal pastime. g) It is now estimated that over 380 billion photographs are taken each year.
